The bonus math nobody shows you
| App | Welcome bonus | What unlocks it |
|---|---|---|
| Freecash | $10 | Finishing your first offer |
| Testerup | $10 | Signing up |
| Prograd | $5 | Signing up (US only) |
| InboxDollars | $5 | Signing up and the short profile survey |
| Branded | 100 points ($1) | Joining |
| Swagbucks | $10 | Spending $25 in its shop within 30 days |
The free ones come to $31. Count Swagbucks and it’s $41, except you had to spend $25 to get that last $10.
And each app has its own cash-out minimum and timing, so they don’t all land on the same day. Bonuses are a head start. They aren’t $50.
Where to sell for $50, and what you keep
| Where | What it keeps | A $50 sale gets you |
|---|---|---|
| Facebook Marketplace, local pickup | Not listed in its seller terms | Paid by the buyer when you meet |
| Facebook Marketplace, shipped | 10% ($0.80 minimum) | $45 |
| Mercari | 10% of price plus buyer-paid shipping | $45 if there’s no shipping charge |
| eBay | 13.6% plus $0.40 per order | $42.80 |
1.Facebook Marketplace
Best for: $50 today
- What it is
- Facebook’s buy-and-sell section, sorted by what’s near you.
- What you do
- Post photos and a price, then meet the buyer somewhere public.
- How much it pays
- On a local sale, the buyer pays you directly when you meet, in cash or through a payment app. Shipped sales through Facebook lose 10%, with a $0.80 minimum.
- The catch
- Plenty of “is this still available?” messages that go nowhere. Only hold an item for someone who commits to a time.
Worth it? Yes. It’s the fastest way there is to turn your stuff into $50.
What actually sells for $50 fast
Things people are already searching for near you: a game console or a spare controller, a bike, power tools, a decent desk chair, baby gear your kid outgrew, a mini fridge when the semester starts.
Look up what the same item is listed for locally and price yours a little under the cheapest one. That’s usually the difference between selling today and selling next week.
2.eBay
Best for: niche stuff with a buyer somewhere else
- What it is
- The big online marketplace. Great for collectibles, parts and anything with a small, specific crowd.
- What you do
- List it with photos, then ship it when it sells. Your first 250 listings a month are free to post.
- How much it pays
- In most categories eBay keeps 13.6% of the sale, plus $0.40 for an order over $10. On a $50 sale, that leaves $42.80. To actually net $50, list it around $59.
- The catch
- You wait on a buyer and then on shipping. Not today money.
Worth it? Only if nobody local wants it. If the market’s online, eBay finds the buyer.
Mercari works the same way with a flat 10% cut, and its Instant Pay costs $3 a cash-out. Selling isn’t your thing? These ways to make money without a job skip the garage clean-out.
Then let the bonuses fill the gap
3.Freecash
Best for: the biggest free bonus
- What it is
- A rewards site and app paying for games, app trials, surveys and offers.
- What you do
- Finish one offer for the $10, then work the higher-paying game offers if you’ve got a few days.
- How much it pays
- $10 welcome bonus. Your first withdrawal is $5 to $20 depending on your region, with an ID check. After that, PayPal starts at $5 and most PayPal, crypto and gift card withdrawals are instant.
- The catch
- Freecash is 16+, but some offers have higher age limits of their own. Check before you start one.
Worth it? Yes. $10 of the gap for one offer, and quick cash-outs once you’re verified.

4.Testerup
Best for: the other $10, with rewards spelled out
- What it is
- An app that pays you to test mobile games and do surveys.
- What you do
- Pick game goals and surveys. Each task shows its reward before you start, so you can map out your way to the rest of your $50.
- How much it pays
- $10 welcome bonus. Payouts go out by Visa virtual card, Amazon gift card, PayPal or Venmo (US), usually within 24 hours and up to 3 business days. The two cards come through whole. PayPal and Venmo lose 5%.
- The catch
- Payouts come in fixed preset amounts, so you cash out in steps instead of your exact balance. Face check first, 18+.
Worth it? Yes. It’s the other big free bonus, and you always know what a task pays.

5.Prograd
Best for: $5 more toward the stack
- What it is
- A US-only rewards app for games, offers, surveys and tasks.
- What you do
- Sign up, then play games and finish offers inside the app. There are surveys too.
- How much it pays
- $5 on signup. Cash out to Visa or PayPal. Prograd processes rewards within 7 working days of your request.
- The catch
- Up to 7 working days is slow if you need $50 this week. US users only.
Worth it? Only if you can wait a week. Then it’s $5 for a couple of minutes of signing up.
6.InboxDollars
Best for: people who’ll keep checking in
- What it is
- A Prodege app that pays in dollars, not points.
- What you do
- Surveys, games, cash back shopping, receipt scans and PaidEmails.
- How much it pays
- $5 welcome bonus after the short profile survey. Your first cash-out needs $15, then $10 after that, by PayPal, gift card or Visa. Plan on about 3 business days, up to 10.
- The catch
- If you don’t log in or confirm a PaidEmail in the 10 days before your payment processes, the account goes inactive and the request gets dropped. US only, 18+.
Worth it? Only if you’ll keep using it past the $15. It’s a slow piece of a fast $50.
FAQ
Can I make $50 in a day?
Yes, by selling something or working a delivery shift you’re already approved for. With apps alone, usually not. The free bonuses top out at $31.
What app gives you $50 for signing up?
None that we know of. The biggest free welcome bonuses here are $10, from Freecash and Testerup. Treat any app promising $50 for a sign-up with real suspicion.
Where can I sell stuff the fastest?
Locally. Facebook Marketplace or a neighborhood buy-and-sell group, with the buyer paying you when you meet. Shipping to an online buyer adds days.
Short of a $50 item? Making $40 fast is a gig shift instead. Need more? Try $60 or $100 fast. Before you pick an app, see what’s paying right now and the full list of apps that pay you real money, or browse more side hustles.
Next step
Walk around your place, pick the one thing you’d sell for $50 and list it on Marketplace before you do anything else.
