Every legit way on this list pays you a little at a time for doing something: answering a survey, playing a game to a goal, finishing an offer. Anything promising a $100 code for clicking a button is after your login or your phone. More on that further down.

Best for: Play credit with zero middleman
- What it is
- Google’s own survey app. On Android it pays you in Google Play credit.
- What you do
- Answer a short survey when the app pings you. Most are a handful of questions and take a minute or two.
- How much it pays
- Credit goes straight into your Google Play balance, no code to redeem. Google doesn’t post a set amount for Android surveys: it depends on how many questions there are and how long they take. (On iPhone, the same app pays $0.10 to $1.00 a survey in PayPal cash.)
- The catch
- Surveys show up at random and usually expire within about 24 hours, so you can go days without one. Each credit expires one year after you earn it. You need to be over 18.
Worth it? Yes if you’re on Android. It’s free, it’s Google, and it takes seconds. Turn on notifications and answer every survey honestly, since that’s what keeps them coming.
Earn on an app, cash out to a Google Play gift card
These pay way more per hour than surveys, because the money comes from game and app offers. You earn first, then pick a Google Play card when you cash out.
2.Freecash
Best for: the fastest path to a Play gift card
- What it is
- Earn coins on games, app trials and surveys, then cash them out as a Google Play gift card. PayPal, Amazon, Apple and crypto are on the menu too.
- What you do
- Choose an offer, usually a game, and play it to the milestones. Coins come in as you go.
- How much it pays
- Wrapping up your first offer unlocks a $10 welcome bonus. The first time you withdraw, you’ll verify your ID and need $5 to $20 depending on your region. Gift card withdrawals after that are mostly instant.
- The catch
- ID plus selfie before your first card. Minimum age is 16.
Worth it? Yes if you want a Play card soon, not someday. Do the ID check early so it doesn’t hold up your first cash-out.
3.Swagbucks
Best for: if you already shop online
- What it is
- Prodege’s points site, where 100 SB is $1. Surveys, games and shopping cash back all earn.
- What you do
- Rack up SB however you like, then pick Google Play in the rewards catalog.
- How much it pays
- Google Play cards run from 500 SB ($5) to 10,000 SB ($100). Expect up to 10 business days for one to show up. The $10 welcome bonus kicks in only after a $25 purchase through its shop in your first 30 days.
- The catch
- Slow delivery next to Freecash, and surveys pay small.
Worth it? Only if you’ll use the shopping cash back too. For surveys alone, Google Opinion Rewards is less hassle.

The PayPal route
Here’s the move most lists miss. Google Play takes PayPal and Venmo as payment methods in the US. So any app that pays you in PayPal is basically a Google Play app: cash out, link PayPal in the Play Store, and buy your app or in-game stuff with the money you earned.
Bonus: PayPal money isn’t stuck in Google Play if you change your mind.
4.Testerup
Best for: game testers who want cash
- What it is
- A game testing app that pays cash instead of gift cards.
- What you do
- Play new mobile games to the goals listed. Short ones run 15 to 20 minutes, the big ones stretch over days.
- How much it pays

- The catch

Worth it? Yes if you play mobile games anyway. You’ll end up with cash you can spend on Play or anywhere else.
5.Bigcash
Best for: short offers on your phone
- What it is
- Coins for short offers, with 250 coins equal to $1.
- What you do
- Finish an offer (most run 5 to 10 minutes, per Bigcash) and collect the coins.
- How much it pays
- PayPal, gift cards or Bitcoin, sent within 36 hours according to the App Store listing. Bigcash’s own claims: up to $170 for one offer and $20M+ paid out.
- The catch
- Bigcash can raise your cash-out bar based on how you use the account, and it’ll take coins back if an advertiser flags your play. Best on your phone.
Worth it? Yes if you’re on Android with a few minutes here and there. Cash out to PayPal and spend it on Play.
Already spend money on Google Play? Turn on Play Points
Google Play Points is Google’s loyalty program. At the Bronze level you earn 1 point for every $1 you spend on Play, and higher levels earn more. You can swap points for Google Play credit.
It’s not free money, since you earn it by buying stuff. But if you’re already paying for a subscription or in-game coins, you’re leaving credit on the table without it. Points expire one year after the last time you earned or used any.

Free Google Play code generators are a scam
Search for free Play codes and you’ll hit a wall of “generators” and “unused code lists”. Skip all of them.
A code generator can’t make a real code. Google issues them. Those sites want one of a few things: your Google login, a “verification” that’s really an app install or a survey they get paid for, your card number, or a file that puts junk on your phone.
The tell is the size of the promise. Legit apps pay you a few dollars for real effort. Anybody offering $50 or $100 for clicking a button is lying. Same goes for someone selling Play cards at half price on social media.
How to redeem a Google Play code
Got a gift card code from Freecash or Swagbucks? Open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture at the top right, then Payments & subscriptions, then Redeem code. Type the code, tap Redeem and confirm.
On a computer, go to play.google.com/redeem. You can also pick Redeem code right at checkout when you’re buying something.
Opinion Rewards credit skips all of this. It’s already in your balance.
Can you turn Google Play credit into cash?
No. Google’s gift card terms say the balance can’t be redeemed for cash or swapped for value, so once money is in your Play balance, it stays there. Good news: gift card balance doesn’t expire in the US.
That’s the real reason to think about the PayPal route. If there’s any chance you’d rather have cash, cash out to PayPal and only spend it on Play when you’re actually buying something.

Freecash. Finish one game or app offer, pass the one-time ID check, and cash out to a Google Play card. Most gift card withdrawals are instant after the first one.
How much does Google Opinion Rewards pay?
